BANJAR, Thecuy.com – The Speaker of the Banjar City Legislative Council, Sutopo, addressed an incident affecting a council member identified as ARM.
He is entangled in an alleged investment fraud scheme tied to the construction of a Free Nutritious Meal kitchen (MBG).
He indicated that comprehensive actions have been implemented to manage the councillor’s legal issues, encompassing full council sessions and requesting a formal directive from the political entity that includes ARM.

“He noted that the process mirrors this pattern: in the absence of a response from the political party, the DPRD regulations allow the mayor to bring the matter to the governor. Since more than a month has elapsed, the situation remains unresolved,” he said on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
A proposal concerning his public portrayal had already been transmitted to West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, preceding any interim replacement (PAW) measures.
“He observed, ‘The process could be rapid or drawn out, depending entirely on the governor’s approval.’”
This circumstance has reduced the council’s membership. Nonetheless, the body intends to fully utilize its current members to better capture the hopes and needs of the community.
He acknowledged that institutionally, the Banjar City DPRD faced no challenges, as the controversy stemmed from personal conduct rather than any official action by the body.
Nevertheless, he cautioned the remaining members against replicating his mistake, noting the potential negative consequences for both themselves and others.
