Thirteen years after its debut, the anime series based on Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya is coming to a close. Fate/kaleid’s production committee has revealed that Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya Finale, a TV anime sequel to Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya: Licht Nameless Girl, will be the final installment. The new anime is slated to launch next year.
Studio Silver Link will handle production of Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya Finale. This studio has previously adapted every anime title in the Fate/kaleid franchise. Likewise, a number of staff members from the earlier film will return. Among them are director Shin Onuma and character designer Kazuya Hirata. Hazuki Minase and Kenji Inoue will once more pen the anime’s screenplay. Ken Takahashi will shift from assistant director to serve as series director.
The franchise’s three principal voice actresses will return: Mai Kadowaki as Illyasviel von Einzbern, Kaori Nazuka as Miyu Edelfelt, and Chiwa Saito as Chloe von Einzbern.
The series’ production committee has not yet disclosed any additional production or voice‑acting personnel for Fate/kaleid Liner Prisma Illya Finale.
The Fate/kaleid anime and movies derive from Hiroshi Hiroyama’s manga series. Those manga are spin‑offs of the Fate/Stay Night visual novel. All three Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA☆ILLYA manga were serialized in Kadokawa’s Monthly Comp Ace. In 2012, a crossover special with Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha was produced.
The most recent installment, Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA☆ILLYA 3rei!!, began in May 2012 and remains in production. Kadokawa has gathered the chapters into 14 bound volumes. An English omnibus edition is published by Seven Seas Entertainment. Additionally, the franchise includes a Nintendo DS title and a light‑novel series.
The series is available on Crunchyroll and HIDIVE. Streaming access differs depending on the viewer’s region.
