TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – BPJS Kesehatan Branch Office in Tasikmalaya continues to strengthen cooperation to broaden coverage of the National Health Insurance Program (JKN). One effort made was the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Tasikmalaya City Government regarding the JKN Advocacy Network Program to Achieve Activation (JAGA) on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the Tasikmalaya City Hall.

The memorandum signing ceremony was attended and signed by the Mayor of Tasikmalaya, Viman Alfarizi Ramadhan, and the General Chairperson of TP-PKK, dr Elvira Kamarrow Putri, in the presence of participants. This constitutes a crucial step and strategy to continue driving advocacy and education related to the JKN Program so that it remains sustainable in Tasikmalaya City.

In his speech, the Head of the Tasikmalaya BPJS Kesehatan Branch, Kgs. Hamdani, expressed gratitude to the Tasikmalaya City Government for continuously collaborating with BPJS Kesehatan to safeguard the health of Tasikmalaya’s residents. He emphasized that health is a fundamental right and basic necessity of human beings.

“Based on our data, the JKN participation coverage in Tasikmalaya City currently reaches 98.35 percent with an activation rate of 80.42 percent. This means there is still a small portion of Tasikmalaya City residents whose health is not yet protected by BPJS Kesehatan,” Hamdani said.

This person from Palembang explained that in order to maintain and increase the activation level of JKN participants, the Tasikmalaya City Government has prepared funds amounting to Rp 47 billion. The funds will be allocated for the community that is not yet covered by the JKN Program.

“With those funds, we hope to obtain support from all stakeholders, especially community health cadres and midwives, because they interact intensively with the community,” he said.

According to Hamdani, one of the functions of JAGA JKN is to preserve the priority Universal Health Coverage (UHC) status that Tasikmalaya City has achieved. With intensive communication between community health cadres and midwives and the public, it is expected that community literacy regarding the JKN Program will improve.

Hamdani continued that the JAGA JKN Program is in line with the Healthy Community Movement Program (GEMAS) of the Tasikmalaya City Government. When the community already practices a healthy lifestyle through the GEMAS Program, their health will be protected by the JKN Program.
