CIAMIS, Thecuy.com – The Ciamis Regency Government continues its efforts to reduce the open unemployment rate, which stood at 4.08 percent in 2025. One measure taken is to expand job opportunities through vocational training based on industry needs, job placement, and entrepreneurship.
A total of 80 residents attended the national vocational training held at the UPTD Kursus Latihan Kerja Dinas Ketenagakerjaan Kabupaten Ciamis, located at Jalan Bojonghuni No. 7, Maleber Subdistrict, on Thursday (16/7/2026). The program covers five training fields: baking bread and pastries, coffee brewing, content creation, sewing, and automotive.
The Information Technology Instructor at Ciamis’s UPTD Training and Work Course, Eyeb Haryanto, stated that the program is a collaboration with the Bandung Vocational Training and Productivity Development Center (BBPVP).

“A total of 80 high school/vocational school graduates participated in the national vocational training program, with 16 participants each from the five available training programs,” he told Radar on Thursday (16/7/2026).
He explained that the training duration lasts up to 33 days, adjusted to each program. After completing the training, participants are expected to be able to start working or open their own businesses.
“Like the sewing training participants, because this training is based on job placement at PT CGU Ciamis,” he said.
The program also provides opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in the training.
“This training also targets people with disabilities. For example, there is one person who joined the content creator training,” he said.
In addition to receiving a training certificate, participants who passed also have the opportunity to take a competency test from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).
“Graduates can also obtain BNSP certification,” he said.

The Head of the Ciamis Regency Manpower Office, Dase Fadlil Yusdy Mubarak, urged all participants to attend the training diligently so that the skills obtained can be utilized to enter the job market or build an independent business.
“Our hope is that after the training, participants can apply the knowledge they have gained by entering the job market or starting a business. All of this aims to reduce the open unemployment rate in Ciamis Regency,” he said.
One of the participants, Muhammad Zulfikar Athari (27), a person with a disability who joined the content creator training, said he had been undergoing training for two weeks.
