Thetrailer for the upcoming KAGURABACHI anime has broken records, amassing 6 million views within 24 hours across official platforms. The project, officially revealed on April 27, includes detailed production updates and is set to debut in April 2027.

Studio Cypic will oversee the animation, with Tetsuya Takeuchi at the helm. Takeuchi gained fame for directing iconic battles, such as Rock Lee versus Gaara in Naruto. Previously, we interviewed CyberAgent’s Takahiro Yamauchi, who highlighted the studio’s aim to deliver “high-quality Japanese animation embraced worldwide.”

The trailer’s reach extends beyond X (formerly Twitter), where it has 5.1 million views. Additional views came from Shochiku’s Japanese upload (400,000) and CyberAgent’s English version (800,000). A separate English upload by CyberAgent further boosted numbers by 170,000 in the same period.

The narrative centers on Chihiro, a swordsmith trained by his father. After his murder by the Hishaku sorcerers, Chihiro seeks vengeance armed with the seven Enchanted Blades. The official summary states:
“Flames of resolve, kindled by hatred.
Chihiro Rokuhira, a boy training under his father Kunishige, a master swordsmith, loses everything when the Hishaku attack. Their six Enchanted Blades—powerful weapons shaping the nation’s fate—are stolen, along with their peaceful life.
