In the world of anime, there are numerous organizations with significant duties and responsibilities. Some of them even have to carry out tasks that endanger their lives, ranging from hunting monsters, fighting criminal groups, conducting secret operations, to attempting to overthrow a cruel government.
Even though each organization has a different purpose, they share one commonality: the bravery of their members in facing danger. Often, the missions they undertake end in fierce battles and the loss of members.
Bold Anime Organizations Undertaking Dangerous Missions
1. Fairy Tail – Fairy Tail
Fairy Tail is a renowned magic guild based in the Kingdom of Fiore. This organization accepts a variety of tasks that can be performed by its wizards, ranging from ordinary jobs to missions of extremely high difficulty.
One of their greatest challenges is the 100 Years Quest, a legendary mission that has not been completed in a hundred years. During this journey, Natsu, Lucy, Erza, Gray, and Wendy must face the Gods of Dragon, who possess extraordinary power.
Even when facing much stronger opponents, Fairy Tail members always strive to complete their tasks. Unity and mutual trust become the main strengths that help them overcome various dangerous situations.
2. Black Bulls – Black Clover
Black Bulls is one of the Magic Knight groups in the Kingdom of Clover, led by Yami Sukehiro. Although they often receive a bad reputation due to their members’ unusual behavior, the group actually possesses great fighting abilities.
They often receive tasks related to serious threats to the kingdom. One example is the battle against the Eye of the Midnight Sun, a group that aims to destroy the Kingdom of Clover.
In addition, Black Bulls is also involved in a major conflict involving the resurrection of the Elf race. In facing powerful enemies, each member is required to develop their abilities to the limit.
Courage and cooperation make Black Bulls capable of becoming one of the reliable groups, even though they were often looked down upon at first.
3. Revolutionary Forces – One Piece
Unlike typical pirate groups that seek treasure and freedom at sea, the Revolutionary Forces have a goal to fight against power that oppresses society.
The organization led by Monkey D. Dragon seeks to overthrow a government system controlled by the Tenryuubito. Because they dare to oppose the World Government, they are considered one of the greatest threats to that power.
One of their dangerous operations occurred when Sabo, along with several Revolutionary commanders, infiltrated Mary Geoise. The mission was carried out to rescue Bartholomew Kuma and the enslaved individuals who were suffering from oppression.
In carrying out the operation, they had to face great forces, including Admirals Fujitora and Ryokugyu. The risks were very high because failure could have fatal consequences for all members involved.
4. Konoha’s ANBU Force – Naruto Shippuden
ANBU is a special force that serves directly under the Kage’s leadership. Unlike ordinary shinobi, ANBU members carry out mostly secret tasks that require special abilities.
Their work includes reconnaissance, infiltration, information gathering, and even assassinating certain targets. Therefore, only ninjas with specific skills and expertise can join this organization.
Some famous characters, such as Kakashi Hatake and Itachi Uchiha, have been part of ANBU Konoha.
One example of the heavy burden of this organization’s duties can be seen through Itachi’s story. He had to face a conflict between the Uchiha clan and Konoha village, while also playing a role that put him in a highly stressful situation.
ANBU duties are not only about risking one’s life in battle but also require members to keep various secrets that they sometimes have to bear alone.
5. Public Safety Devil Hunters – Chainsaw Man
In the anime Chainsaw Man, the Public Safety Devil Hunters is a government organization tasked with hunting devils that threaten human life.
This job is very dangerous because a devil’s power comes from human fear. The greater the fear towards something, the more terrifying the devil’s power that can emerge.
One of the well-known units is the Tokyo Special Division 4, which once involved Denji, Aki Hayakawa, Power, and Himeno.
To improve their fighting abilities, some devil hunters even make contracts with devils. However, this power is not obtained for free because they have to pay with something valuable, such as a part of their body or their lifespan.
This condition shows that being a devil hunter is not a safe job. Even an experienced hunter can still lose their life when facing a stronger enemy.
6. Gotei 13 – Bleach
The Gotei 13 is the main military organization in the Soul Society in the anime Bleach. This organization consists of thirteen divisions, each with a captain and vice-captain with different abilities.
Their main responsibility is to maintain order in the Soul Society while protecting the balance between the human world and the spirit world.
The shinigami within it must face various threats, including hollows and other enemies that can endanger many lives.
One of the heaviest conflicts occurred when the Wandenreich, led by Yhwach, attacked the Soul Society in the Thousand-Year Blood War.
The attack forced the Gotei 13 captains to face an enemy with tremendous power. Even Genryusai Yamamoto, known as one of the strongest shinigami, eventually fell in battle against Yhwach.
This proves that even great power does not always guarantee a person’s safety when facing a far more dangerous threat.
7. Demon Slayer Corps – Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba
The Demon Slayer Corps is an organization formed to protect humans from demon attacks. Its members are tasked with hunting and defeating demons that often prey on humans.
Unlike some other anime organizations, most members of the Demon Slayer Corps remain ordinary humans. They rely on physical training, breathing techniques, Nichirin swords, and combat skills to face demons.
This task is certainly not easy because demons have physical strength and regenerative abilities that are far superior to humans.
Even the Hashira, who are the strongest fighters in the organization, still face the risk of death. One example is Kyojuro Rengoku, who fell after fighting Akaza in the Mugen Train Arc.
Their struggle becomes even more difficult when they have to face the powerful demons who are subordinates of Muzan Kibutsuji. Many members have to risk their lives to protect humans from this threat.
8. Night Raid – Akame ga Kill!
Night Raid is a group of assassins who are part of the Revolutionary Forces in the anime Akame ga Kill!.
This organization has a mission to overthrow the imperial government, which is known to be corrupt and oppressive. One of the methods they use is to eliminate officials and dangerous individuals who are part of this system.
Under the leadership of Najenda, Night Raid has members such as Akame, Tatsumi, Leone, Mine, and Bulat. They use a special weapon called the Teigu, which has unique and deadly abilities.
However, this weapon does not make them immune to enemy attacks. Every operation still carries a high risk, especially because the Imperial side also has strong fighters with their own Teigu.
Some Night Raid members even lost their lives while carrying out their duties. Sheele and Bulat are examples that the struggle against cruel power requires great sacrifice.
9. Survey Corps – Attack on Titan
The Survey Corps, also known as the Scouting Legion, is a military organization in Attack on Titan whose task is to explore areas outside the walls. Their goal is to gather information about Titans and find ways for humanity to regain its freedom.
This job is one of the most dangerous because the members have to face Titans, who have large body sizes and terrifying physical strength.
Most Survey Corps soldiers are ordinary humans who rely on 3D maneuver gear, swords, and strategy to survive.
One of the most terrifying events occurred during a mission to retake Shiganshina. At that time, Erwin Smith led the soldiers in a high-risk attack to distract the Beast Titan. This sacrifice gave Levi Ackerman the opportunity to attack Zeke.
The Survey Corps members actually understand that their chances of returning safely are very small. However, they still carry out their duties for a better future for humanity.
Their courage does not come from invincible strength but from the determination to keep fighting even though death is always lurking.
