Kepemimpinan Baru GAMKI Kota Tasikmalaya Diuji Melalui Tindakan Nyata

TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The election of Kepler Sianturi as Chairman of the Christian Indonesian Youth Movement (GAMKI) of Tasikmalaya City is more than just a leadership change.

The next challenge is to prove that the youth organization is not limited to conference forums but also actively addresses community issues.

Kepler was elected at the First Branch Conference (Konfercab I) of GAMKI Tasikmalaya City, held at the Hall of the Office of Unity and Politics (Kesbangpol) of Tasikmalaya City on Saturday (31/10/2026).

The new leadership is expected to serve as a starting point for strengthening the organization and expanding youth contributions to social life and regional development.

Kepler emphasized that GAMKI must be able to be present among the community through programs that deliver tangible benefits.

In his view, the organization should not be preoccupied solely with internal agendas, as surrounding social issues require attention.

“In the future, GAMKI Tasikmalaya City is ready to continue contributing to the nation’s progress, especially in Tasikmalaya City. We will also continue to enhance social activities so that the benefits of this organization’s presence can be felt by the entire community,” he said.

He described social activities as one form of youth service.

Therefore, the involvement of cadres in various community activities needs to be expanded so that the organization’s existence does not remain limited to its name and leadership structure.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of DPD GAMKI West Java, Andres Simanjuntak, reminded that young people must take on a role in raising community awareness.

“Young people must be able to become the frontliners in building community awareness. The presence of youth organizations must be proven through contributions and tangible actions,” he said.

A similar encouragement was expressed by the Deputy Treasurer of the DPP GAMKI, Vansy Ransun. He appreciated the holding of Konfercab I as part of organizational consolidation and strengthening.

In his opinion, the newly formed leadership must be able to run the organization’s operations while building synergy with the government to support development programs.

However, he cautioned that GAMKI’s movement should not be trapped in self-interest. The organization must be able to reach the broader community without discriminating based on background.

“GAMKI’s movement should not be oriented solely towards its own group. There must be advocacy and social activities whose benefits can be felt by the entire community,” he emphasized.
