TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com– The sand and gravel mining activities in Tasikmalaya City are still under scrutiny. The DPRD asks the government to carry out an inventory and re‑examine permits for sand mining and processing sites, especially along Jalan Mangkubumi‑Indihiang (Mangin).

This step is considered crucial to guarantee that all mining activities comply with regulations concerning permits, land area, and alignment with the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW).

Democrat Party politician and Chairman of Commission III of the Tasikmalaya City DPRD, Anang Sapaat, stated that his team intends to re‑inspect several mining sites after previously conducting a surprise inspection (sidak).

In the centre of Tasikmalaya City, an elderly grandfather and his disabled grandson reside in an uninhabitable hut. Students with disabilities in Tasikmalaya hold the Youth Pledge Commemorative Ceremony, the Council encourages providing facilities.

According to Anang, data from the Energy and Mineral Resources Agency (ESDM) show that only two mining sites have recorded official permits. However, this information still requires verification to ensure that the actual field conditions correspond to the permit data.

“The permit must be re‑confirmed by the relevant authorities,” said Anang on Thursday (29/10/2026).

He stressed that inspections must not focus solely on the existence of permit documents; the land area used for mining activities must also be examined to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Anang stated that the mining land area in Tasikmalaya City amounts to approximately 27 hectares according to the data he presented. This figure needs to be cross‑checked again with the actual conditions on the ground.

“It must certainly be reviewed again, whether the size is already appropriate or exceeds 27 hectares,” he said.

In addition to excavation sites, Anang highlighted the presence of mining processing facilities scattered in several areas, particularly along Jalan Mangin.

He said that sand‑processing activities in the area also need to be comprehensively recorded. Inspections are necessary to determine the legality of the business and to ensure that every activity has the appropriate permit.

October collection only 35%, parking fee revenue in Tasikmalaya City is stagnant. The asset transfer from the City and Regency of Tasikmalaya is considered problematic.

“There are quite a number of mining processing sites along Jalan Mangin. Their permits must be confirmed, ensuring that none operate without authorization,” he asserted.

He added that the government also needs to evaluate the alignment of mining sites and processing facilities with the RTRW. Business activities must not take place in areas not designated for such purposes.
