TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – Positions can be tested through documents. Others are tested through interviews. There is also a more interesting way to test: opening it to the public.

Candidates may have a diploma. They may have experience. They may also bring a long list of organizational positions. But this time, the public is also given the opportunity to assess.

Hotum Hotimah is currently facing the third type of test. The woman from Tasikmalaya is undergoing selection as a candidate for the National Disability Commission (KND). The public input stage is scheduled to take place from 19 to 25 October 2026.

Pelayanan Publik Pemerintah Kota Tasikmalaya Dinilai Baik, Nilainya Tembus 81,669 Poin. Atap Panggung Perayaan HUT Kota Tasikmalaya di Kecamatan Cihideung Roboh Tertiup Angin.

The time is only a week. In a job selection, a week can feel short. Especially if what is being evaluated is not just the ability to answer questions, but a person’s long journey.

Hotum also seeks public support. She invites the public to submit testimonials, assessments, and input through the official KND selection website at seleksiknd.kemensos.go.id.

It’s simple. Open that site. Select the Public Input menu. Search for Hotum Hotimah’s name. Then submit your assessment. What’s being evaluated is not popularity. At least, that should not be the primary measure.

There are four points of focus: idealism, integrity, commitment to public service, and leadership and organizational skills.

These four words sound familiar. They often appear in speeches. They also frequently appear neatly printed in job requirement documents.

But implementing them is not as easy as saying them. Idealism is tested when reality does not match expectations. Integrity is tested when interests come offering a shortcut. Commitment to service is tested when the served person does not have the power to repay the favor.

As for leadership, it is tested when someone has to make decisions, not just chair a meeting. Hotum has quite a long track record.

She used to work as a teacher in Garut Regency. She also served as a district facilitator in the P2MPD program under Bappenas. Additionally, she was a commissioner of the Tasikmalaya City KPU for two terms, from 2008 to 2013 and 2013 to 2018.

The first term was in the Socialization Division. The second term was in the Voter Data and Community Participation Division.

This means that she has worked in a space where rules, political interests, and citizens’ rights intersect.

That experience is important. Because, conducting elections is not just about counting votes. There is another job that is no less complicated: ensuring that citizens can exercise their rights.
