PANGANDARAN, RADSIK – The threat of a climate crisis cannot be adequately addressed by simply waiting for weather conditions to become favorable again.
Farmers need to be equipped with knowledge and skills to stay productive amidst increasingly unpredictable weather changes.
In response to this challenge, the Farmers’ Community Network (Jamtani) launched the Center for Agricultural and Rural Self‑Development (P4S) Climate Learning Center (CLC) in Pangandaran Regency.

The facility, situated at Dusun Kamurang RT 003 RW 011, Babakan Village, Pangandaran District, was inaugurated on the occasion of World Food Day, Friday (16/10/2026).
Its presence is expected to serve as a learning space and a center for developing agriculture that is more resilient to climate change.
The inauguration of P4S CLC marked the climax of a series of activities of the 9th General Meeting of Members (RUA) of the Indonesian Organic Alliance (AOI) and the Farmer Goes to Campus program, which took place from Monday (12/10/2026).
Jamtani’s Director, Kustiwa Adinata, said that the climate crisis is no longer just a global issue discussed in international forums.
Its impacts are already directly felt by farmers, ranging from changes in weather patterns, increased pest attacks, decreased land productivity, to the threat of crop failure.
“Kondisi iklim yang tidak stabil telah menimbulkan banyak dampak negatif bagi petani, mulai dari perubahan pola cuaca, serangan hama, penurunan hasil panen, hingga kegagalan panen,” katanya kepada wartawan.
According to him, farmers need more than just the ability to cultivate land.
They also need to understand adaptation and mitigation strategies in order to face changing environmental conditions without neglecting agricultural sustainability.

Through P4S CLC, JAMTANI is committed to strengthening farmers’ capacity through technical training, climate adaptation knowledge, and the application of ecological farming principles in harmony with nature.
The facility is equipped with an interactive classroom, a demonstration plot (demplot) for climate‑smart agriculture, and an independent organic fertilizer production unit.
This facility is designed so that farmers not only acquire theory but can also directly study and practice more environmentally friendly agricultural methods.
In the future, P4S CLC will serve as a venue for various training programs, including the Climate Field School (SLI) and the Climate Business Field School (CBFS) or Agribusiness Climate Field School.
