Haikyu!! is teaming up with Japan’s Spring High Volleyball tournament for the first time in seven years, with series creator Haruichi Furudate drawing a new illustration for the collaboration. The franchise has HAIKYU!! The Movie: VS The Little Giant anime film and the special anime HAIKYU!! Where Monsters Go both scheduled for release in 2027.
The new partnership marks the series’ first collaboration with the tournament since 2020. The newly drawn artwork was first introduced during Jump PRESS (where Nue’s Exorcist announced an anime adaptation) before being shared on the official Haikyu!! X account. The illustration features Hinata Shoyo, and you can check out the full version below.
The Spring High Volleyball tournament, often referred to in Japan as “Haruko,” serves as the nation’s premier high‑school volleyball competition. Participating teams from all over Japan battle for the national crown, which aligns perfectly with Haikyu!! and its emphasis on high‑school volleyball.
The official Haikyu!! Twitter account added that they hope Furudate’s artwork will boost the enthusiasm of the athletes taking part in Spring High.
Haruichi Furudate is the author of the Haikyu manga (also known as Haikyu!!), which appeared in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2020. Production I.G handled the animation for both the movie and the television series. The debut season premiered in 2014, followed by a second season that began in Autumn 2015 and concluded in Winter 2016. Season 3 comprised ten episodes and aired in Autumn 2016, featuring the Karasuno versus Shiratorizawa match. The fourth season, titled Haikyuu!! To the Top, consisted of twenty‑five episodes spread across two cours – Winter 2020 and Autumn 2020. Besides the TV anime and the latest film, the series also includes several recap movies, OVAs, side stories, stage plays and video games.
