TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com—The sparkling lights of Lumiland in Dadaha helped celebrate Tasikmalaya City’s Milangkala ke-25 anniversary. The brilliance of Dadaha highlighted the disparity with several dark streets due to inadequate street lighting.

Events such as the Lumiland show in Dadaha are known for their sparkling lights that draw a lot of public interest. Many residents were willing to endure traffic jams to attend this event, which has a ticket price of Rp 25,000–Rp 35,000.

Mayor of Tasikmalaya, Viman Alfarizi Ramadhan, was present and inaugurated the event on Friday evening (9/10/2026). He stated that the nighttime entertainment could boost happiness and stimulate the local economy.

SDN Galunggung amassed the first-place trophy in the 2026 Tasikmalaya City LPS Competition; BKMM of Tasikmalaya City is dedicated to strengthening the impact of mosques by offering religious instruction on citizens’ social media front porches.

“This certainly raises the happiness index of Tasikmalaya residents on their 25th anniversary, and economic activity is happening at Lumiland,” he said.

The Lumiland event is possible because of reliable electricity access that keeps the decorative lights glowing; however, many residents of Tasikmalaya still struggle to obtain electricity.

Viman shared this during a coordination meeting for the Lindes program with PLN UID West Java, attended by other regional leaders in early October 2026. He indicated that roughly 2,547 households in Tasikmalaya City are in need of electricity.

“There are 4 neighboring sub-districts on the outskirts of Tasikmalaya Regency that require over 400 family cards—dwellings needing assistance,” he revealed.

In addition to electricity access, dark streets remain an unresolved issue in Tasikmalaya City, as many roads lack installed public lighting or suffer from damage or outages.

According to data received by the Tasikmalaya City Department of Transportation, out of 12,086 installed street lights, 596 are damaged. The number of failures is dynamic, increasing as time progresses.

Myftah Faried, Chairman of GMNU Tasikmalaya City, stated that the Lumiland light show should serve as a mirror for the city government. The situation demonstrates that businesses are more capable of providing illumination, even when driven by commercial interests.
