TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com—The lack of clear progress in the Dadaha area’s redevelopment has caused disruptions that actually impair comfort. This is the responsibility of the Tasikmalaya City Government, which must address problems including informal traders, traffic, and parking.
Deden Tazdad, Chairperson of the City Tasikmalaya RT/RW Silaturahmi Forum (Forsil), stated that Dadaha has for a long time served as the beating heart of activities for Tasikmalaya residents. The area is utilized for sports, creative pursuits, recreation, and economic purposes.
He commends the aspirations and steps taken by the Tasikmalaya City Government to make the area more comfortable and useful. Nonetheless, the incomplete redevelopment has instead led to serious on‑the‑ground issues. “Justru mengganggu kenyamanan pengunjung dan berpotensi merugikan daerah,” Deden said.

The primary critical issue is traffic, as the closure of Dadaha Street is considered unjustified because it actually impairs comfort and creates inconvenience for the public. Since the closure was implemented, several traffic points have frequently become congested. “Jalur yang ditutup harus dibuka kembali supaya sirkulasi kendaraan kembali normal,” he stated.
Furthermore, the problem of informal traders using the road and sidewalks has so far been ignored, which clearly affects pedestrian and traffic activity. In the redevelopment carried out, the City Government has only organized traders in the jogging track area, who currently occupy shelters. “Lakukan penertiban yang tegas namun humanis oleh Satpol PP, Pastikan seluruh pedagang masuk dan memanfaatkan fasilitas shelter yang telah disediakan,” he said.
Parking issues cannot be ignored either, as the current management operates illegally, meaning the revenue does not enter the regional treasury. In this regard, the relevant agency must implement a professional and accountable parking management system through digitalization. “Langkah ini tidak hanya akan mengeliminasi praktik pungutan liar, tetapi juga secara signifikan meningkatkan Pendapatan Asli Daerah (PAD) Kota Tasikmalaya dari sektor retribusi,” he said.
Deden conveyed this message in an open letter to Tasikmalaya Mayor Viman Alfarizi Ramadhan. He hopes that the regional head, together with key officials and legislators, can conduct an on‑site review and follow it up with concrete solutions to ensure Dadaha is truly organized. (Rangga Jatnika)
