PANGANDARAN, Thecuy.com—The house of Ai Kokom Karningsih, located in Sirnagalih hamlet, Limusgede village, Cimerak district, collapsed on Saturday evening (3/10/2026). This forced the woman to seek refuge and left her without a home.
The incident occurred in the evening around 10.00 WIB when the building suddenly collapsed. It was not due to extreme weather or other external factors, but because the building’s construction was already dilapidated and unfit for habitation.
Nana Suryana, head of the Taruna Siaga Bencana (Tagana) of Pangandaran Regency, confirmed that Ai Kokom lived alone in the house. Although there were no fatalities or injuries in the incident, the homeowner was forced to evacuate because the residence was severely damaged.

”The occupant lived alone. For now, we advise the victim to take refuge at a relative’s house for safety,” said Nana when contacted on Sunday (4/10/2026).
Tagana officers have visited the site together with local village officials. They have carried out an assessment for further handling. “We are involved in clearing up the debris,” he said.
Meanwhile, assistance that has been provided includes urgent needs such as temporary shelter, building materials, tarpaulins, and supplies of logistics and food. (Deni Nurdiansah)
