Ninja Scroll is returning to North American cinemas with a fresh 4K version, and Anime Corner has secured an exclusive peek of the forthcoming release. This preview offers a fresh look at the restored edition before the movie’s limited run on October 4th, 5th, and 7th.
HIDIVE and Iconic Events Releasing will host the three‑day event across roughly 600 theaters. On October 4th the screening will be shown with English subtitles, on October 5th with the English dub, and on October 7th either option will be available depending on the venue. We earlier got the chance to share an exclusive image from the restored version, and you can view the new clip underneath.
The remake was overseen by author and director Yoshiaki Kawajiri and produced by Sentai. The remaster process started with a 4K scan of the original 35mm negative at 3840 × 2160 pixels, then went through meticulous frame‑by‑frame repair and color grading to produce a brand‑new archival‑grade digital version. You can view the trailer underneath.
First shown in 1993 and made by Madhouse, Ninja Scroll tells the story of Jubei, who rescues a young female ninja and gets pulled into probing the puzzling slayings of an entire community. The two quickly discover a deeper plot orchestrated by otherworldly foes bent on halting them.
These forthcoming showings are being advertised as the initial chance for viewers in North America to experience the freshly restored 4K edition of the movie on the big screen.
