TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com — The 25th anniversary celebrations of Tasikmalaya City are attracting attention. It is not only about whether an entertainment stage will be present or not, but rather the differing narratives among regional leaders regarding the concept of the celebration.
The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Tasikmalaya City, H Asep Goparullah, previously stated that this year’s Anniversary celebration will be held in a modest manner due to budget constraints.
Several activities requiring large expenditures, including cooperation with a private television station, are said not to be held.
The chicken slaughterhouse in Purbaratu, Tasikmalaya, was burgled, causing an estimated loss of Rp70 million. RSUD dr Soekardjo in Tasikmalaya City is on the Ministry of Health’s renovation list, covering more than just the building.
However, the Mayor of Tasikmalaya, Viman Alfarizi Ramadhan, presented a more varied concept. One of them is a Free Health Check (CKG) plan at Asia Plaza on 17-20 October 2026 combined with a local UMKM bazaar.
The differing narratives were subsequently criticised by the Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Youth Generation (GMNU) of Tasikmalaya City, Myftah Farid.
According to Myftah, the distinction between simple and varied terms should not be limited to a matter of word choice.
If the activity concept does not rest on the same planning basis, this may indicate weak internal coordination within the local government.
“This linguistic difference is not merely about word choice, but reflects a lack of coordination and synchronization among regional leaders,” said Myftah, Wednesday (23/9/2026).
He believes the appropriate metric for determining the Anniversary concept is not which narrative is loudest, but rather the local government’s planning documents, especially the Regional Work Plan (RKPD) and the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).
Myftah warned that every government agenda must have a clear planning and budgeting basis. The activity concept must not expand after the budget has been set.
Tuberculosis cases are high among the productive age group, prompting the Tasikmalaya City Government to strengthen integrated tracing. HMI Tasikmalaya has a new leader, Ahmad Riza Hidayat, who encourages post‑conference reconciliation.
“Let’s not let statements by regional leaders and senior civil servants of Tasikmalaya City risk breaching the established budget planning limits,” he said.
According to him, when activity narratives expand beyond the planning documents, there is a risk of budget inflation or creep, especially if event improvisations are made close to implementation.
“The government is not an event organizer that can alter an event’s concept according to personal taste or short‑term image needs. Every rupiah and every agenda must follow well‑developed planning,” Myftah explained.
