TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com — The approach of the 5th City Council (Mukota) of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) of Tasikmalaya City, scheduled for Wednesday (9/9/2026), has made the contest among chair candidates increasingly heated.
Efforts to consolidate support have become more visible, as candidates gather strength ahead of the forum that will determine the leadership of the business organization.
One of the activities carried out by the candidate for Chairperson of KADIN Tasikmalaya City, Muhamad Abdul Karim, took place at Siloka Indihiang.

On Monday evening (7/9/2026), Karim and his campaign team held a meeting and consolidation with dozens of entrepreneurs belonging to various associations as well as individual business owners.
The meeting boosted Karim’s morale. Moreover, several business associations expressed their support and are ready to guide him through the Mukota V contest for the leadership of KADIN Tasikmalaya City.
The Chairman of Gapeksindo Tasikmalaya City, Asep Budi Pramono, stated that Karim is a promising young figure who is considered to have a strong chance of winning the contest.
“Insyaallah Pak Karim is a promising young leader. All of us from the business associations – Hipmi, Gapeksindo, Gapensi, Gapsi, Himpunan Pengusaha Kosgoro 57 and others – are ready to secure his victory,” Asep told Radar.
He stated that the consolidated support currently amounts to around 90 voters. However, this number still needs to undergo verification by KADIN West Java.
“Insyaallah we have gathered almost 90 voters. But we are still waiting for verification from West Java. Hopefully 90 will pass 100 percent,” he explained.
According to Asep, the number of voters involved in the previous Mukota was around 150.
220 electric rickshaws will be distributed soon; Tasikmalaya City aims to improve transportation comfort for the elderly. Gekrafs Tasikmalaya targets a Creative Economy Regulation, not wanting the inauguration to end as a mere ceremony.
With the amount of support claimed to have been collected, Karim’s team is optimistic about securing a majority of votes.
“We hope to achieve 50 to 60 percent or even more,” he said.
Asep admitted that the competition for Mukota V cannot be taken lightly.
Because, aside from Karim, there are other candidates considered to have their own strengths, including the incumbent figure.
“Actually, the three of them are quite strong. Because one is the incumbent, the other is also a potential figure. But hopefully we will give our all from the team for Karim’s victory,” he emphasized.
Similar optimism was expressed by Muhamad Abdul Karim. He expressed gratitude for the openly manifested support from the business community.
