TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The struggle for the Chair of the Tasikmalaya City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) for the 2026‑2031 term is beginning to gain momentum.

Several names have now taken the candidate registration forms to participate in the 5th City Musyawarah (Mukota) of Tasikmalaya Kadin.

Among them are young entrepreneur Muhamad Abdul Karim and the Acting Chair of Tasikmalaya Kadin, H Asep Saepulloh.

Three contenders are competing for the Kadin Chairmanship in Tasikmalaya, while the Mukota process reaches the verification stage. The Dadaha area of Tasikmalaya continues to attract attention due to piling garbage, turning road shoulders into parking spaces.

As the political contestation starts to unfold, Tasikmalaya Mayor Viman Alfarizi Ramadhan has decided not to field any political maneuvers to back a particular candidate.

Instead, Viman asserts that all prospective candidates have an equal chance.

He considers Kadin a strategic partner for the government in driving regional economic growth.

Therefore, whoever is eventually chosen is expected to become the best figure for the business community and for Tasikmalaya city.

“Kadin is a strategic partner of the government. Let’s see who will be the best for Tasikmalaya,” Viman told Radar on Thursday (20/8/2026).

When asked if he had a favorite in the race for Kadin Chair, Viman reiterated that he was not endorsing any particular name.

“In my view, if there’s a favorite, it’s everyone. All are favorites,” he said.

He emphasized that the election process within Kadin is part of the organization’s democratic mechanism.

The statement was made as the dynamics of the 5th Mukota of Tasikmalaya Kadin entered the candidate nomination phase.

Earlier, the committee had set out several steps leading to the implementation of Mukota V, scheduled for Wednesday, 9 September 2026, at the Ballroom of Hotel Harmoni in Tasikmalaya.

The Chairman of the Steering Committee (SC) of Mukota V Kadin Tasikmalaya, Dodo Murtado, said that all committee structures have been established.

Currently, the committee is preparing an official announcement regarding the implementation of Mukota.

“At present, we are preparing an official announcement for the City Musyawarah. All committee structures are ready,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee (OC) of Mukota V Kadin Tasikmalaya, Abdullah Muzaki, explained that the collection of candidate registration forms is scheduled to take place from 14 to 20 August 2026.
