The Summer 2026 season is back with plenty of exciting anime ready to fill the free time of fans. From supernatural action, time travel, to ambitious fantasies, this season offers many titles worth adding to your watchlist. Here are the summer 2026 anime recommendations.
The challenge is, with so many new anime series airing each week, figuring out which ones are truly worth watching can be quite a task.
Top Anime Picks for Summer 2026
1. BLACK TORCH: Ninja Inferno
If you enjoy anime that mixes ninjas, supernatural powers, combat, and malevolent spirits, BLACK TORCH could be the biggest surprise of the season. The series follows Jiro Azuma, a teenager who has been trained as a ninja since childhood. What’s unique is that Jiro can communicate with animals.
That ability leads to far greater consequences. Jiro can also converse with mononoke, supernatural beings wielding dangerous power and intent. An encounter with a cat named Rago drags him into a major conflict against these creatures.
At first glance, the premise may look like a typical shonen formula we’ve seen many times. Yet it’s the blend of characters, action, and animation that helps BLACK TORCH carve out its own identity.
Interestingly, the BLACK TORCH manga ran for only five volumes before concluding in 2018. Its anime adaptation arrives nearly a decade after the comic’s initial release.
2. Link Click Season 3: Photo‑Bound Time Loops
For those who have followed Link Click since its first season, the return of the series is definitely one of the most anticipated moments.
Link Click Season 3 brings back the time‑travel concept that makes the series appealing. However, unlike typical time‑travel stories, the characters’ abilities are closely tied to photographs.
The two main characters, Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang, use their powers to step into specific moments captured in a photo.
Sounds simple? Don’t be fooled.
Each journey can bring unexpected consequences. The interplay between past, present, mystery, and various conspiracies makes Link Click one of the most unpredictable anime series.
The previous season left many questions that kept fans curious. As a result, the third season is one of the most exciting anime to follow week by week.
3. Tomb Raider King: Relic Hunt
If the success of Solo Leveling has made you more interested in anime adapted from Korean web novels or manhwa, Tomb Raider King is a title worth checking out.
The story centers on Goriki Ryoga, a man living in a world where mysterious tombs start appearing everywhere. Inside these tombs lie various relics—sacred artifacts that grant incredible power to those who possess them.
Ryoga initially sought after those powers. Yet a betrayal caused him to lose everything. Instead of stopping there, he receives a second chance and returns to a time before tombs and relics were known to humanity. Armed with knowledge from his past life, he now has one goal:
to amass as much power as possible before anyone else discovers it.
If you look at Ryoga’s design and instantly think of Sung Jin‑Woo from Solo Leveling, you’re not alone. The visual similarity is quite striking. However, Ryoga’s personality is far more aggressive and opportunistic.
4. Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2: War’s Return
After a long wait, Tanya is back. Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 grabs attention, especially from fans of military fantasy and its unconventional protagonist.
Tanya Degurechaff isn’t the kind of anime protagonist you can easily label as a “hero.” She’s intelligent, cold, highly pragmatic, and possesses extraordinary skill in combat.
What makes the premise even more intriguing is the reincarnation concept that underpins the story. Instead of finding a peaceful new life, a former office worker is reborn as a young girl named Tanya in a world embroiled in military conflict.
The result is a unique blend of isekai, war, military strategy, and the supernatural. Season two is certainly big news for fans who have followed Tanya’s journey since the first season.
If you enjoy anime with an anti‑hero protagonist, military strategy, and a more serious storyline, this series is a must‑watch for Summer 2026.
5. Other Summer 2026 Anime Worth Your Time
Summer 2026 isn’t just limited to those five titles. This season’s lineup is quite dense, spanning multiple genres. Even before the season began, several anime outlets had already listed titles like The Ghost in the Shell, Sparks of Tomorrow, and Goodbye, Lara among the most anticipated anime.
Crunchyroll has also announced a sizable Summer 2026 lineup covering various genres. This means that if the above four or five titles don’t match your taste, there are still many other anime to explore.
