JAKARTA, Thecuy.com – The local government of Tasikmalaya is fine‑tuning the program of the city’s anniversary celebrations. The aim goes beyond formal ceremonies; the event is designed to deliver direct advantages to residents, including complimentary health screenings and SME product showcases.
The mayor of Tasikmalaya talked about strengthening this cooperation during a meeting with Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Creative Economy at the Creative Economy Ministry office in Jakarta on Wednesday (2/9/2026).
The gathering was also attended by the President’s Special Aide for MSMEs and Digital Technology, the President’s Special Aide’s Assistant, Tasikmalaya City’s Regional Assistant II, the Head of the Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism Office of Tasikmalaya City, and the Head of the Health Office of Tasikmalaya City.

Tasikmalaya Mayor Viman Alfarizi stated that the anniversary activities should be structured to produce tangible outcomes. Efforts are being made to combine health services with community economic development in a single event. “We must make the most of the city anniversary moment. Residents will receive health care access, while our MSMEs and creative entrepreneurs will have a platform to present their products,” the mayor commented.
He noted that merging free health checks with an MSME bazaar is a step toward more productive initiatives that align with public needs. Tasikmalaya boasts a variety of top‑notch products that merit broader promotional exposure, such as batik, kelom geulis, decorative umbrellas, woven items, and other creative goods. “Our goal is to raise awareness of Tasikmalaya’s potential. Batik, kelom geulis, decorative umbrellas, woven goods, and other creative products must be given greater promotional space,” he added.
During the meeting, plans for the free health check event were also reviewed. It is slated to occur at Asia Plaza in Tasikmalaya City from 17‑20 October 2026, running from 12.00 to 20.00 WIB. The Tasikmalaya City Government has already prepared the necessary human resources. Equipment requirements will still be coordinated between the Tasikmalaya City Health Department and the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry of Creative Economy is supporting this coordination to ensure that the technical needs for the health check event are met prior to its execution. Besides the health checks, the program will feature a Local MSME Bazaar. Signature products from Tasikmalaya City will be displayed to create sales opportunities and to highlight the region’s creative economic potential to the public.
