Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend anime film just unveiled its second official trailer ahead of its Japanese theatrical launch on October 16, 2026, bringing the Rascal Does Not Dream anime series to a close.
The fresh trailer showcases the film’s anthem, “Turn the World Upside Down.” Ameko Kodama penned the lyrics, and Hidehiro Kawai of fox capture plan handled the composition and arrangement.
A brand‑new key visual has also been disclosed.
The Rascal Does Not Dream novel saga, authored by Hajime Kamoshida with illustrations by Keji Mizoguchi, was initially put out by ASCII Media Works under the Dengeki Bunko label starting in April 2014, totaling 15 books. Its concluding volume hit shelves on October 10, 2024, closing a decade‑long run of releases.
CloverWorks has handled every episode of the anime project up to now. This covers the Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai television series (volumes 1‑5) and three preceding cinematic entries: Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl (volumes 6‑7), Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out (volume 8), and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid (volume 9). The second TV run tackled volumes 10‑13, leaving the remaining storyline for the Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend film.
