Doloris from Ave Mujica Covers “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis”

BanG Dream! unveiled a rendition of “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis” performed by Doloris of Ave Mujica. The track was initially sung by Yoko Takahashi and served as the opening theme for the Neon Genesis Evangelion series. Additionally, the song had earlier been interpreted by Roselia, a fellow act within the BanG Dream! franchise.

Ave Mujica forms part of the BanG Dream! franchise, and its lineup includes:

The group also appeared in its own series titled Ave Mujica: The Die is Cast. It launched in January 2025, produced by Sanzigen and directed by Kodai Kakimoto. The show placed 5th in Anime Corner’s Winter 2025 rankings. A theatrical film is slated for release on October 16, continuing the narrative six months after the band’s return. A TV anime sequel is scheduled to start in January 2027.
