TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The Sukasukur Village Government, Mangunreja District, Tasikmalaya Regency, bolstered preparedness to confront drought threats through the Community Disaster-Resilient Village Drought Control Training on Friday (14/8/2026).

The training involved members of the Community Protection (Linmas) and the heads of each RT throughout Sukasukur Village. The activity focused on enhancing the community’s capacity to identify risks, implement mitigation measures, and jointly formulate drought response strategies.

The Subdistrict Head of Public Order and Comfort (Tantribum) of Mangunreja, Mochamad Nizan Mulyana, S.IP., M.Si., expressed appreciation for the training. He stated that village-level preparedness is crucial as Linmas and RT chairs have direct contact with the community’s conditions.

“We from Mangunreja Subdistrict, representing the Subdistrict Head, commend the drought control training activities for the Community Disaster-Resilient Village organized by Sukasukur Village,” he said during confirmation on Friday (14/8/2026).

Nizan hopes the training does not remain a mere ceremonial activity. The knowledge acquired by participants must be applied in confronting drought threats and other potential disasters.

“We hope that after the training, the drought disaster can be minimized through a unified disaster risk plan and mitigation involving all elements in the area,” he said.

He emphasized that controlling the impact of drought requires coordination among all elements, ranging from the village government, territorial officials, Linmas, RT chairs, to the community. A shared understanding of risks and response steps is considered key to ensuring a faster and more focused emergency response.

In addition to handling the disaster when it occurs, the community is also encouraged to carry out early prevention by recognizing the regional conditions and developing mitigation steps. Thus, the threat of a prolonged dry season that could disrupt water availability and community activities can be anticipated.

The presence of Linmas and RT chairs is also considered strategic in accelerating information delivery when conditions require handling.
