TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The extended family of Pondok Pesantren Bustanul Ulum gathered once more in a solemn atmosphere. The 19th annual haul of KH Buchori, combined with the 26th reunion of former students, took place in Kampung Sindangsari, Sumelap Village, Tamansari District, on Saturday evening (15/8/2026).
The event served as a gathering for kinship among the pesantren’s caretakers, alumni, students, religious scholars, local government officials, and nearby residents. The Deputy Mayor of Tasikmalaya, Rd Diky Chandra Negara, was also present at the gathering.
During the occasion, Diky commented that the presence of the pesantren plays a crucial role in preparing the younger generation. He noted that the education provided by the pesantren is not limited to religious knowledge, but also includes the development of morals and character.
A liquefied gas truck crashed in Pangandaran, scattering gas canisters across the roadway and resulting in the driver’s death. Meanwhile, the former mayor of Tasikmalaya comments on potential regional revenue, noting that parking fees from Dadaha could generate up to 500 million.
“May Pondok Pesantren Bustanul Ulum continue to thrive and grow, producing generations that are knowledgeable and morally upright,” Diky said.
He stated that the pesantren is a vital component in the development of human resources in Tasikmalaya. Consequently, the continuity of religious educational institutions must be continually supported so that their benefits can be felt more widely by the community.
According to Diky, the haul and alumni reunion hold a deeper significance beyond being mere routine events. The gathering provides an opportunity to rekindle familial bonds and recall KH Buchori’s efforts in developing pesantren education.
“This haul is not only about commemorating the services of the late KH Buchori, but also serves as a moment to strengthen brotherhood and unite enthusiasm for the progress of the pesantren,” he said.
Diky also expressed appreciation to the caretakers, students, alumni, and community for maintaining the existence of Pondok Pesantren Bustanul Ulum. He hopes that collaboration among the pesantren, alumni, government, and community can continue to be strengthened. (Firgiawan)
