TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The dry season has started to make it hard for residents across several parts of Tasikmalaya City to access clean water.
Residents’ wells are shrinking, with some already beginning to run dry.
Yet, amid this situation, a water source continues to flow and serves as a lifeline for dozens of families.
The water source is located in the yard of the Kasat Samapta of Polres Tasikmalaya Kota, AKP Hartono, in Kampung Gunung Subang RT 02/RW 02, Cilamajang Village, Kawalu District, Tasikmalaya City.

Each morning and evening, residents arrive carrying gallon containers, jerrycans, buckets, and various other vessels to collect water.
They are willing to queue to obtain clean water for daily needs, including cooking, bathing, washing, and other household purposes.
While residents’ wells are losing water due to the dry season, the spring in AKP Hartono’s yard continues to flow.
This situation has become a special blessing for the community facing a clean water crisis.
Not wanting the water source to be enjoyed only by himself, AKP Hartono opened free access to it for residents in need.
There are no fees or restrictions on who may take water.
“Water is a basic necessity for every human being. As long as this spring keeps flowing, I want the community to also benefit from it. I hope that what we are doing can ease the burden of the residents during the dry season,” AKP Hartono told reporters on Friday (14/8/2026).
Residents of Cisarua, Tasikmalaya, must travel 20 kilometers to buy fuel! A Bali liquor warehouse in Cibeureum, Tasikmalaya City, was raided, and 500 liters of adulterated alcohol were confiscated by the police.
He hopes the water source will continue to flow until the end of the dry season so its benefits can be continuously enjoyed by the surrounding community.
“May this clean water continue to benefit the surrounding community and become a blessing for all of us,” he added.
The kindness has earned appreciation from the residents.
They said the presence of the water source at AKP Hartono’s house is very helpful, especially when the wells in their area began to dry up.
“If it weren’t for the water from Mr. Hartono’s house, we would truly be in difficulty. Alhamdulillah he opened his house to residents in need. This assistance is very meaningful to us, especially during this dry season,” said one resident.
