CIAMIS, Thecuy.com – Another impressive achievement has been accomplished by a student from Ciamis Regency. The female student of SMAN 1 Ciamis, Louisa Cecilia Simamora, succeeded in winning first place in the Song Creation category at the National Student Arts and Literature Competition (FLS3N) for SMA/MA level in West Java Province in 2026.

Because of this success, Louisa will represent West Java Province in the national level of the FLS3N competition.

Louisa expressed her gratitude for the accomplishment she had achieved. In her view, the success was the outcome of a lengthy process that commenced with the district-level selection and progressed up to the provincial stage.

“The achievement undoubtedly stems from a prolonged effort spanning from the district selection stage to the provincial competition. Hopefully, representing West Java at the national level will bring prestige to both the school and the region,” she remarked while meeting at the Ciamis District Office on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

The grade 12 student of the MIPA 2 class at SMAN 1 Ciamis explained that the work which propelled her to victory originated from the transformation of a poem selected by the committee. She crafted a musical composition that aligned with the poem’s message, meaning, and ambient mood.

“The poem’s title is ‘When the World Whispers Softly’. From this poem I composed a song following the competition’s rules,” she said.

Louisa’s triumph also owes a debt to the intensive guidance from the arts teacher at SMAN 1 Ciamis during the preparation period. The coaching included concept development, arrangement work, and performance refinement prior to confronting the panel of judges.

“The support covered concept planning, arrangement work, and stage performance polishing before the act of facing the judging panel,” she commented.

Louisa’s musical talent has been cultivated since her days at SMP Negeri 1 Ciamis. At that time she took part in a traditional music competition because the song creation category was not yet offered at the junior high school level.

“During junior high I participated in a traditional music contest because the song creation category was not yet available. That experience became a solid foundation she kept refining, ultimately producing outcomes at the provincial level,” she said.

The Education Office of Tasikmalaya Regency indicated that the project to construct an additional classroom at SDN Kubangsari Taraju remains absent from the agenda; additionally, SDN Kubangsari located in Taraju District, Tasikmalaya Regency, suffers significant deterioration, compelling pupils to pursue studies in a Madrasah.

At present, Louisa aspires to achieve another distinction at the national level while raising the prestige of her school, Ciamis Regency, and West Java Province. (riz)
