Thecuy.com – Desa Potato Head continues its spiritual exploration of the Nusantara through the second chapter of the Merasa Origins program, titled “Java: Entering Depth,” scheduled for September 10–13, 2026. This four‑day program invites participants to delve into the Hindu‑Buddhist Tantra tradition and Javanese inner spirituality that form the foundation of Bali’s wellness practices.

Merasa Origins is a long‑term project that traces the roots of Balinese wellbeing, from the Vedic teachings in India, the blend of Buddhism and indigenous beliefs in Java, to the 14th‑century Majapahit influence that merged into Balinese culture. The Java chapter serves as a bridge between Indian and Balinese influences.

Rangkaian Ritual dan Refleksi

The program is led by Pak Sugeng, a Tantra priest, and Serj Hunt, a spiritual anthropologist. Participants will go through a series of rituals and reflective sessions, beginning with an opening dinner designed to cultivate presence and humility. Each morning features Javanese dance and collective chants as a daily reset before delving into deeper material such as Tattwa Tutur, three forms of Broto, and the concept of Right Relationship.

Every session, including the sacred reenactments of Yadnya and Upacara, is crafted as a mirror to examine participants’ intentions, devotion, and inner clarity. In between activities, there are breaks, story sharing over communal meals, and informal yet thoughtful question‑and‑answer moments.

Puncak Acara: Tolak Balak

Towards the end, participants take part in the Tolak Balak ceremony, a protective ritual that purifies negative energies. The final day includes silent reflection, a closing lunch, and a blessing ritual marking that the experience will continue in daily life.

Merasa Origins will culminate as a trilogy following the third chapter in Bali in November 2026, weaving together the thread that connects India, Java, and Bali. The program is open to the public with limited slots available for registration.
