BANDA ACEH (fanews.id) – The Education Service Institute (LLDIKTI) Region XIII organized a Working Meeting of the Board of Trustees of Private Higher Education Institutions (PTS) and the Leadership of Higher Education Institutions under LLDIKTI Region XIII, at Hotel The Pade, Banda Aceh, Thursday (23/7/2026).

The event was attended by 69 PTS leaders along with the organizing board as a strategic forum to strengthen synergy, align visions, and synchronize steps in realizing a transformation of higher education that is high‑quality, adaptive, and impactful for the development of Aceh and the nation.

The working meeting featured two speakers from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), namely the Director General of Research and Development, Dr. Fauzan Adziman, S.T., M.Eng., and the Director of Institutional Affairs of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Mukhamad Najib, S.TP., M.M.

In his speech, the Head of LLDIKTI Region XIII, Dr. Ir. Rizal Munadi, M.M., M.T., stated that private higher education institutions in Aceh still face considerable challenges in improving the quality of higher education.

He noted that currently LLDIKTI Region XIII mentors 3,525 lecturers, but only nine have successfully attained the functional position of Professor.

Moreover, to date not a single higher education institution under the supervision of LLDIKTI Region XIII has achieved Outstanding Accreditation, despite 18 study programs having obtained that status.

“This data serves as both a challenge and motivation for all of us to continuously enhance human resource quality, institutional governance, and academic standards in order to become more competitive nationally,” said Rizal Munadi.

He believes that improving the quality of higher education cannot be done piecemeal, but requires joint commitment among LLDIKTI, the organizing board, higher education leaders, lecturers, and the government.

In the first session, Dr. Fauzan Adziman outlined the government’s policy direction in strengthening research and development as the primary foundation for the transformation of higher education in Indonesia.

He emphasized that higher education institutions must develop a productive and innovative research ecosystem so that research outcomes are not confined to scientific publications, but can generate tangible solutions to various national issues.

Therefore, collaboration with the government, the business sector, industry, and society is key to ensuring that innovations emerging from campuses can provide broad benefits for development.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Mukhamad Najib presented material on the Transformation of Indonesian Higher Education. He emphasized that improving institutional quality must be carried out through strengthening governance, enhancing human resource quality, research, innovation, and cross‑sectoral collaboration.

He believes that higher education institutions must be capable of becoming institutions that are adaptive to the times, relevant to societal needs, and produce graduates with high competitiveness.

This transformation also plays a vital role in supporting the realization of the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision, where higher education institutions are expected to become centers for the development of knowledge, technology, and innovation.

Through this working meeting, LLDIKTI Region XIII invites all private higher education institutions in Aceh to take advantage of the various institutional strengthening programs prepared by the government.

In addition to enhancing lecturer quality and increasing the number of Professors, higher education institutions are also encouraged to accelerate the achievement of Outstanding Accreditation, strengthen the culture of research and innovation, and build increasingly professional institutional governance.

The working meeting is expected to serve as a moment to strengthen synergy among LLDIKTI Region XIII, the organizing board, and all private higher education institutions in Aceh in presenting higher education that is excellent, adaptive, innovative, and capable of providing real contributions to regional progress and national development.
