TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com — The Tasikmalaya City Government continuously enhances the quality of guidance for Al‑Quran memorizers by conducting an evaluation of the One Village One Hafiz (Ohan Hafiz) program.

This action is taken to ensure that the local priority program stays on track and generates more Qur’anic‑oriented generations with strong character.

An assessment of the Ohan Hafiz program’s mentors was held at Nurul Hidayah Islamic Boarding School in Purbaratu District on Wednesday (15/07/2026), involving the coordination team and tahfiz mentors from all coaching zones.

The head of the Ohan Hafiz coordination team, who also serves as the Assistant for Government and Public Welfare of the Tasikmalaya City Setda, Drs. H. Rachmat Riza Setiawan, said that the program is one of the priority programs of the Tasikmalaya City Government that aligns with the regional development vision as a religious city.

According to him, the Ohan Hafiz program does not only aim to produce Quran memorizers, but also to strengthen the sustainability of tahfiz education through continuous mentoring and to provide motivation and appreciation to the hafiz and hafizah.

As of July 2026, a total of 44 individuals were enrolled in the initiative, which is distributed across four mentoring regions, namely the Nurul Hidayah Islamic Boarding School in Purbaratu (14 participants), the Sulalatul Huda Islamic Boarding School in Cihideung (13 participants), the Al‑Hasanah Islamic Boarding School in Kawalu (12 participants) and the Nurul Iman Quranic Boarding School in Indihiang (5 participants).

The coaching results indicate positive progress. Twenty participants have completed memorization of 25 to 30 chapters, eight participants have memorized 20 to 25 chapters, while another 16 participants have memorized between 10 and 20 chapters.

These achievements are supported by 20 mentors, consisting of 12 tahfiz mentors and eight tahsin mentors who consistently accompany the participants throughout the learning process.

In addition to intensive mentoring, the Ohan Hafiz Coordination Team also conducts regular monitoring and evaluation of each participant’s progress. These evaluations serve as a basis for enhancing the quality of coaching so that the program targets can be achieved optimally.

The Tasikmalaya City Government reaffirms its commitment to continue supporting the sustainability of the Ohan Hafiz Program through improved inter‑regional coordination, ongoing mentorship, and routine evaluations.
