PANGANDARAN, Thecuy.com – Maintaining public safety and order (kamtibmas) cannot rely solely on patrols.

Effective communication, fostering brotherhood, and community involvement are crucial for building a secure and comfortable environment.

The approach was carried out by the Pangandaran Police through a Subuh prayers巡逻 activity at Pesantren Sabilil Muttaqien (PSM) Pangandaran, Emplak Village, Kalipucang District, Pangandaran Regency, Friday (9/10/2026).

Hundreds of baristas in Tasikmalaya city have been certified, tested to ensure coffee is more than just style. Meanwhile, illicit alcohol still circulates in Tasikmalaya city via COD, with a dozen bottles hidden inside backpacks.

The head of the Pangandaran Police, AKBP Ikrar Potawari, along with his team, was received by the leader of Pesantren PSM Pangandaran, Kyai Sahlan Husain, along with approximately 100 male and female students.

After the congregational Subuh prayer, the chief of police delivered a public safety message and urged the students to actively participate in maintaining security within their respective communities.

In his view, security is not solely the responsibility of the police. Community involvement is essential to ensure that efforts to create a conducive situation can be carried out more effectively.

“Our primary purpose in coming here is to foster goodwill and establish good communication. Security is not only the responsibility of the Indonesian National Police, but a shared responsibility,” said Ikrar.

He emphasized that the Indonesian National Police continue to transform into an institution that is loved and trusted by the people. Therefore, a persuasive approach and open communication have become key methods to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the community.

On that occasion, Ikrar also introduced the SETIA principle, which stands for Smile, Empathy, Transparency, sincerity, and Safety. This principle serves as a guide for the Pangandaran Police in delivering services to the community.

The slogan ‘Police Together with the Community’ is also echoed to emphasize that maintaining security requires collaboration, not merely the presence of officers when problems arise.

Telkomsel‑PosDigi aims to recruit 200,000 agents via its Sat Set package. Meanwhile, the Zig‑Zag Cimerak drainage project in Tasikmalaya city remains under scrutiny, with the Minister of Public Works stating it is being carried out by the West Java provincial government.

In addition to discussing public safety in general, the chief of police also highlighted traffic discipline, especially among young people.

The students were reminded to comply with traffic regulations and avoid using exhaust systems that do not meet technical specifications or the so‑called ‘brong’ style.

This appeal is part of an effort to cultivate a culture of traffic discipline. After all, roads are not a place to test the loudness of exhausts; they are shared facilities that require discipline from every user.

The Pangandaran Police also reminded the public to make use of the free Call Center 110 service for requesting assistance or filing police reports.
