Sekolah Rakyat di Kota Tasikmalaya akan naik kelas, dengan gedung permanen yang mulai dibangun pada tahun 2027.

TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – Sekolah Rakyat 41 Tasikmalaya now begins to show results after one year of operation.

It is not merely a learning space for children from underprivileged families; the initiative is now being upgraded to the next level through the construction of a permanent building and the enhancement of literacy facilities.

The Tasikmalaya City Government (Pemkot) targets that construction of the permanent Sekolah Rakyat will commence in the first quarter of 2027.

Currently, the government is still finalizing the land acquisition process that will serve as the site for the project.

Tasikmalaya Mayor Viman Alfarizi Ramadhan stated that the presence of Sekolah Rakyat is expected not to end as a temporary educational program.

The city government aims to ensure that children from underprivileged families have a proper learning space and the opportunity to build their future.

“God willing, the permanent Sekolah Rakyat will start construction in the first quarter of next year. Currently we are just waiting for the land acquisition process,” Viman said while attending the Open House Sambara Karya 2026 at Sekolah Rakyat 41, Jalan Suaka, Sambongpari District, on Thursday (8/10/2026).

According to him, the construction of permanent facilities is part of the long‑term commitment of the Tasikmalaya City Government to broaden access to education.

Because education is not sufficient by merely providing a learning space; it must also be supported by facilities capable of developing students’ potential.

One of the facilities currently being prepared is a library. The Tasikmalaya City Government says the National Library (Perpusnas) will provide support of around 3,000 books to strengthen the reading collection at Sekolah Rakyat.

While awaiting the construction of permanent facilities, the city government will strive to secure a room that can serve as a library, including through rental options.

“Approximately 3,000 books will be supported by the National Library. Later we will try to rent a room for the library,” Viman said.

The enhancement of literacy facilities is considered important because Sekolah Rakyat is not solely aimed at achieving academic abilities.

Students are also encouraged to develop skills, courage to perform, and communication abilities.

This was evident during the Open House Sambara Karya 2026. Students showcased various works and abilities, including speeches delivered in three languages.

Viman considered the development a positive sign after Sekolah Rakyat 41 had been operating for one year.

“This meets expectations. Earlier, the children were able to create works, and some even delivered speeches in three languages,” he said.
