Razer has officially launched the Wolverine V4 series, a fresh line of controllers designed for competitive gamers on Xbox and PC platforms. The lineup includes the Razer Wolverine V4 Pro, which offers wireless connectivity, and the Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition, which relies on a wired link.
The Wolverine V4 Pro is the most feature‑rich model in the series. It incorporates a next‑generation capacitive thumbstick sensor engineered for high precision while maintaining anti‑drift performance. Coupled with a 16‑bit ADC chip, the sensor can detect roughly 3,000 discrete movement levels, delivering smoother tracking, reduced jitter, and enhanced accuracy.
One standout capability is Razer HyperPolling at up to 8,000 Hz when used on PC. Razer states this enables the controller to report positional data up to 32 times more frequently than a typical controller. Additionally, the Wolverine V4 delivers sub‑1 ms response times, ensuring that button presses and analog movements are translated instantly.
Designed with competitive play in mind, the Wolverine V4 Pro features four magnetically attachable rear buttons and two claw‑grip bumpers. Players can customize the button layout to match their personal style, allowing actions such as reloads, gadget use, or slides to be executed without removing a thumb from the analog stick.
The controller also includes Razer Pro HyperTriggers, which let users choose between ultra‑fast trigger activation for FPS titles or full‑stroke analog pull for racing games. Via Razer Synapse, the trigger actuation point can be fine‑tuned anywhere from 1.3 mm to 8.2 mm.
Comfort is addressed with PBT mecha‑tactile buttons, a floating 8‑directional D‑pad, and a textured TPU grip. Users can save up to four profiles, each with distinct button mappings and sensitivity settings.
Customization extends further with a magnetic faceplate that can be removed and swapped tool‑free, plus six optional thumbstick caps offering varied shapes and heights.
The Razer Wolverine V4 Pro is priced at US$199.99, while the Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition is available for US$99.99. Both models can be purchased through Razer.com, RazerStores, and various retailers globally. Premium features such as wireless connectivity, removable faceplates and rear buttons, and interchangeable thumbsticks are exclusive to the V4 Pro variant.
