Thecuy.com, Jakarta – Indonesian artist and politician Guruh Soekarnoputra passed away on Saturday morning, September 26, 2026, at 04.16 WIB at MRCCC Siloam Hospitals Semanggi, Jakarta. He was 73 years old at the time of his death.
Prior to his death, Guruh’s health declined and he underwent intensive treatment for about a year. Information about his health condition was disclosed by his nephew, Didi Mahardika. However, the family has not detailed the illness Guruh suffered during his treatment.
President Prabowo Subianto had previously been aware of Guruh’s health condition and asked that he receive intensive medical treatment.
Guruh’s body is currently lying in state at the funeral home located at Jalan Sriwijaya Raya No. 26, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

Hasto Kristiyanto, Secretary General of DPP PDI Perjuangan, said that Guruh’s body is likely to be buried in the Karet Bivak Public Cemetery (TPU) in Central Jakarta, next to the grave of Fatmawati, Guruh’s mother and wife of Indonesia’s first president, Soekarno.
‘The plan is for the body to be buried next to Mother Fatmawati,’ said Hasto Kristiyanto. However, as of Saturday morning, there was no definitive information regarding the time of the burial.
