The future of Sonic the Hedgehog was once uncertain. The iconic Sega franchise almost faced cancellation before the 2020 live‑action film’s success redirected the blue hedgehog’s journey.
This was revealed by Takashi Iizuka, head of Sonic Team, who has worked on dozens of Sonic projects for over three decades. In a recent interview, Iizuka said that Sonic has experienced many tough periods throughout its history.
