Rayman will need a little more time before making a comeback. Ubisoft officially announced that Rayman Legends Retold will not be released in October 2026 as originally planned, and has been postponed until December 3, 2026.
The delay came as a surprise, as Rayman Legends Retold was previously one of the most eagerly awaited nostalgic games. Ubisoft had previously presented the project as a modern reinterpretation of the classic platformer with major upgrades for next‑gen consoles.
Rayman’s Fresh Adventure Requires Additional Development Time

During its announcement, Ubisoft revealed that Rayman Legends Retold had already reached the gold stage. However, that status did not prompt the development team to release the game immediately, as they wanted to take extra time to polish the final details before delivering it to players.
This updated edition goes beyond simple graphical enhancements. Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan have introduced fresh visual designs, an expanded narrative, fully voiced cutscenes, a richer world, and brand‑new areas that have never appeared before. Players will also encounter a variety of new challenges and gameplay refinements compared to the original.
For curious fans, Ubisoft will not leave the waiting period empty of news. A Game Overview trailer is scheduled for release on September 22, coinciding with the first impressions from creators and media who have already tried the game.
Rayman Legends Retold has become one of the most anticipated releases for the end of the year. With the extra development time, Ubisoft hopes that Rayman’s return will deliver a revitalized platforming experience while preserving the charm of the classic series.
