Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look caused Netflix to temporarily go offline just before its scheduled debut. The clip is now available for streaming, giving subscribers an exclusive first look at Rockstar Games’ forthcoming title before its November 19, 2026 release.
The debut was broadcast on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET on August 27. Rockstar will make the Extended Look available at no cost via its official YouTube channel and the GTA VI website at 9 p.m. ET, providing Netflix with a six‑hour exclusivity period.
This showcase follows closely on the heels of several illicit GTA VI gameplay videos that have been shared online. The leaked material revealed different aspects of the game before the developers were prepared to release it to the public.
Rockstar spoke up about the matter on August 26, calling the leaks “heartbreaking” for the team and admitting it was “clearly not the way we wanted you to experience the game after all this time.” The studio also expressed regret over the extended delay in releasing official gameplay and details, and indicated that development is “almost complete.”
The firm noted that portions of the planned experience could now be compromised by spoilers and urged gamers to hold off until launch to play the game themselves. It also expressed appreciation to community members who conveyed messages of encouragement after the leaks.
The title is set to hit PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
The Grand Theft Auto franchise, crafted by Rockstar Games, kicked off in 1997. Over the years it has produced several titles such as GTA III (2001), Vice City (2002), San Andreas (2004), GTA IV (2008), and GTA V (2013). Each installment has deepened its open‑world action and narrative, bolstering the series’ standing. The upcoming game is poised to set fresh benchmarks when it arrives next year.
