CIAMIS, Thecuy.com – Access for residents between Sidaharja Village, Pamarican District, and Kutawaringin Village, Purwadadi District, has become easier. The suspension bridge linking the two areas was finally completed after being built through a Kodim 0613/Ciamis program with direct community involvement.
The bridge, named Perintis Garuda Bridge, was constructed over roughly a month, emphasizing the spirit of mutual cooperation between the TNI and the community.
The bridge was officially inaugurated by Ciamis Regional Secretary Andang Firman Triyadi together with Dandim 0613/Ciamis Lieutenant Colonel Inf Antonius Ari Widiono SSos MHum and the Ciamis Regency Forkopimda officials on Friday (28/8/2026).

Ciamis Secretary Andang Firman Triyadi stated that the bridge construction was a long‑held aspiration of the community that has finally been realized. According to him, the bridge’s existence marks an important moment to enhance access and connectivity for residents in both areas.
“The construction of this bridge was a long‑held dream and has only now become a reality and been inaugurated,” he said during the ceremony.
In appreciation of the project’s realization, the Secretary expressed gratitude to the Indonesian Army, especially Kodim 0613/Ciamis, for providing a bridge construction assistance program for the community.
In his view, the construction of Perintis Garuda Bridge also serves as tangible evidence of the unity between the TNI and the people.
According to him, the TNI’s presence is not only about safeguarding national security and defense but also about assisting the community in overcoming various challenges, including in providing facilities and infrastructure.
“This serves as clear evidence of the TNI’s unity with the people. The TNI’s presence is not only to maintain national security but also to step in and help address difficulties by fulfilling the facilities and infrastructure needed by the community,” he said.
Andang considered the bridge’s location highly strategic as it functions both as a connecting route and the nearest access for residents. Prior to the bridge’s construction, Sidaharja Village residents had to take a rather long detour or cross a river to carry out their daily activities.
