Thecuy.com – Julian Oerip, a promising young midfielder currently playing for Eredivisie club AZ Alkmaar, has sent a clear signal of his intent to join and represent the Indonesian national team. The 21‑year‑old not only voiced his desire but also demonstrated genuine commitment through actions that highlight his closeness to the national squad.
The Oerip family carries Indonesian blood, particularly through his grandfather’s roots in East Java. This cultural and emotional tie strongly motivates Julian to contemplate naturalization and wear the red‑white jersey. His multicultural background as an athlete raised in the Netherlands offers a unique chance to blend national identity with a professional football career.
Julian stays updated on the Indonesian national team’s progress and expresses support via social media interactions and appreciation of the squad’s achievements. His midfield skill, particularly his keen game‑reading ability, makes him a valuable asset to the national side, especially in constructing a competitive team structure.
PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir stressed the need for a serious and well‑planned naturalization program to deepen the squad’s quality for upcoming international challenges. Julian Oerip is among five overseas‑origin players who could bolster the national team if limited dual‑citizenship rules are applied.
Julian’s naturalization process must be transparent and comply with FIFA regulations to ensure a smooth entry into the Indonesian national team. His experience playing in European leagues makes Julian a prime example of diaspora talent development that can enhance the quality of domestic football.
Capitalizing on this momentum, the Indonesian Football Federation is urged to promptly initiate formal talks with Julian and his club to finalize the naturalization process. Involving a young talent like Julian will significantly boost the national team’s competitiveness on the Asian and global stages.
