After the final chapter of the WataNare manga wrapped up, Eru Kudou revealed they will draw the sequel. Shueisha’s upcoming follow‑up to There’s No Freaking Way I’ll Be Your Lover! Unless… is slated for a January or February 2026 release. The upcoming installment of WataNare will carry the name There’s No Freaking Way I’ll Be Your Lover! Unless… Second Season.
The two series stem from the light novel penned by Teren Mikami, with illustrations by Eku Takeshima. Musshu took on the task of turning the story into a manga starting in May 2020. Shueisha’s Dash X Comic ran the initial WataNare chapters from launch through July 2026. So far, the publisher has gathered the installments into nine volumes, with two additional ones on the way. In North America, Seven Seas Entertainment handles the manga’s release.
Eru Kudou’s catalog also features Miss Egushi’s Pure‑hearted Succubus, a yuri series that appeared in Manga Time Kirara MAX. Their work Mikoto to Rei debuted on their X account before Kadokawa snapped it up and released it as a standalone volume.
Studio Mother brought WataNare to the small screen with a TV anime in July 2025, followed by a theatrical installment that arrived in November of that year. The series can be viewed on Remow’s It’s Anime YouTube channel, where both the television episode and the movie are offered as distinct uploads.
