TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The governing body of Tanjungsari Village, situated in Salawu Sub‑district, Tasikmalaya Regency, has earmarked a 42‑hectare village common land asset as a fresh wellspring for Village Original Revenue (PADes). This parcel is slated for transformation into a recreational zone, an agritourism hub, and diverse productive economic ventures aimed at elevating community welfare.
The head of Tanjungsari Village, Atep Abdul Cholik, unveiled this prospect during the Bincang Radar program on Radar Tasikmalaya TV, recorded on Friday, 7 August 2026.
In addition to its expansive village common land, Tanjungsari Village also thrives on a community‑based plantation sector, especially focusing on alba timber. The majority of residents work as agricultural laborers on these plantations, a circumstance that also propels the growth of timber‑sawing enterprises.

“Overall, most of our villagers earn a living as agricultural workers on communal farms. The majority cultivate alba timber, leading many to be engaged in that sector, including timber processing businesses,” he said.
According to Atep, the village’s most significant potential currently lies in its communal land covering roughly 42 hectares. Nevertheless, this asset has yet to deliver its full contribution to PADes, as it has traditionally been managed by the community in a hereditary manner.
He acknowledged that this situation poses a challenge for the village government to maximize land utilization while not overlooking the social context of community members who have long cultivated it.
The village administration has conceived the land’s use as a nature‑based tourism zone, an agritourism destination, and an economic empowerment hub. This potential is underpinned by Tanjungsari’s geography, which is predominantly hilly and boasts a natural scenery regarded as attractive.
“We envision that this village common land could in the future serve as a PADes revenue source, whether through tourism, agritourism, or community economic empowerment. Our region is hilly and possesses a fairly beautiful landscape if arranged properly,” he stated.
Behind this potential, Tanjungsari Village also confronts threats from natural disasters. The hilly geography makes certain areas vulnerable to landslides and soil movement.
Atep noted that there are four villages located within the disaster‑prone zone. Two of them, namely Cinehel Village and Garunggang Village, experience soil movement during each rainy season.
