Thecuy.com, Madiun – A total of 271 riders from various regions in East Java and Central Java took part in the Rookie Drag Competition Bupati Cup 2026, which was held on Jalan M.T. Haryono, in front of Alun-alun Reksogati, Caruban, Madiun Regency, on Sunday (19/7/2026). This straight‑track racing championship is part of the celebration of Madiun Regency’s 458th anniversary.
Madiun Regent, Hari Wuryanto, officially inaugurated the competition. Before the race began, he and the Chairman of the Madiun Regional People’s Representative Council, Ferry Sudarsono, test‑drove the racing track. In his speech, Hari stressed that this event is not merely entertainment, but a venue for young automotive enthusiasts to channel their talents and compete fairly.
“Hopefully, this will become a competition for motorcycling enthusiasts and also encourage youngsters to compete fairly. This is an extraordinary event, hopefully it will not be just once but become a routine activity for fellow racers,” said Hari.
Empat Kelas Mengambil Bagian
The competition featured four main classes: Rookie, Bracket, Mix Rider, and Local Rookie. Participation from riders outside the region was considered positive as it could enhance the quality of competition and gauge the abilities of local riders.
“Praise be, through this event we aim to drive extraordinary achievements. So, local riders can find out how far their abilities go when competing with participants from several regions,” said Hari.
Harapan agar Acara Ini Berkelanjutan
The Madiun Regent hopes that the Rookie Drag Competition Bupati Cup 2026 can be held sustainably. In addition to enlivening the anniversary celebrations, the event is expected to boost the economic activity of the surrounding community in Caruban and produce future champion riders.
