CIAMIS, Thecuy.com – Legiun Veteran Republik Indonesia (LVRI) diminta terus menjaga dan mewariskan nilai-nilai perjuangan kepada generasi muda sebagai upaya memperkuat semangat kebangsaan dan mempertahankan keutuhan Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI)
Meskipun usia para veteran sudah tidak muda lagi, peran mereka dinilai masih strategis dalam menanamkan semangat patriotisme, nasionalisme, serta nilai-nilai Pancasila kepada masyarakat.
Hal ini disampaikan oleh Sekretaris Daerah Kabupaten Ciamis, Andang Firman Triyadi, saat membuka Musyawarah Cabang (Muscab) Dewan Pimpinan Cabang (DPC) LVRI Kabupaten Ciamis dan Kota Banjar Tahun 2026 di Aula LVRI Ciamis, Sabtu (11/7/2026).

Andang affirmed that veterans are living testaments to the nation’s struggle history, having sacrificed their souls, bodies, and dedication to seize and maintain Indonesia’s independence.
He added that the sacrifices of the fighters should be remembered and serve as role models, particularly for the younger generation.
“Veterans are not only actors in history but also a source of inspiration for the nation. Their fighting spirit must continue to be passed on so that the values of struggle do not fade with the times,” he said.
He believes that in the face of global challenges and rapid social changes, the spirit of patriotism, nationalism, and the noble values of Pancasila must be continually reinforced.
He believes that the diminishing sense of nationhood among some community members poses a challenge that must be met by re‑instilling the 1945 fighting spirit in the next generation.
“The exemplary conduct of veterans serves as our spirit in carrying out our duties. The values of discipline, perseverance, and placing the nation’s interests above all else must continue to live in every generation,” he said.
Andang further noted that the Ciamis Regency Government is committed to enhancing community welfare by developing superior human resources. Nonetheless, development success hinges on collaboration among all national elements, veterans included.

“I hope veterans remain actively engaged in the struggle by fostering character, sharing experiences, and instilling values of discipline, hard work, perseverance, and placing the nation’s interests above personal interests,” he said.
He further hopes that the 2026 LVRI Branch Consultation will yield optimal decisions and select a trustworthy leadership team, thereby enhancing the organization’s role to benefit the communities of Ciamis Regency and Banjar City.
