He expressed his hopes that the authorities would take swift action to address the violence and theft that occurred. Despite the danger, Sidik remained composed throughout the ordeal, repeatedly clarifying his identity as a local government official rather than a parliament member. However, the angry crowd paid little heed to his explanations, continuing their violent actions. To escape the chaos, Sidik had to drive away, even accidentally hitting a street vendor’s cart and a motorcycle in the process. Despite the danger, he felt compelled to ensure the safety of his driver and himself, ultimately managing to flee the scene.

The financial losses incurred were substantial, with estimates suggesting the car repairs alone could cost upwards of IDR 40 million. Additionally, the stolen mobile phones, including a Samsung S20 and a Redmi Note 6, were valued at over IDR 20 million. The entire incident has left Sidik deeply affected, both physically and emotionally. Following the event, he promptly filed a police report at the Palmerah police station, seeking justice and accountability for the damages and assault he endured. This incident underscores the potential risks faced by public officials during large-scale demonstrations and the critical need for better crowd management to prevent such violent outbreaks.
